It's a great restaurant! I highly recommend it. I went to the restaurant for tasting, and Bobbi and the chef’s hospitality were wonderful. The atmosphere was warm, and the restaurant was beautiful. And all the dishes were amazing! It was difficult to choose which one was best. If I have a chance to visit nearby, I would definitely like to go again!!!

We catered the Hearthstone Bistro for our wedding at The Lake House Venue. Not only were they incredible at our tasting but their service at the wedding was outstanding. Erin, the manager who helped us, was absolutely darling! She saved my husband and I an appetizer because we were unable to try them at our cocktail hour. She was very observant and was constantly checking on our guests, cleaning tables, filling water cups. She went above and beyond when it came to hospitality, the Hearthstone Bistro is lucky to have her. The food was amazing and just as we remembered it from our tasting. The beef melts in your mouth and the Milanese pasta is absolutely to die for. The food at the wedding was hot and ready for guests to enjoy right on time.

Celebrating our two year anniversary, my boyfriend & I visited The Hearthstone late on a Saturday evening. It seemed like a packed house but didn't have to wait to have our choice of booth or table. Our waitress was prompt in greeting us with a smile, asking if we were celebrating an occasion or just there for dinner. She also told us about the specials of the day & offered drinks. The atmosphere is a dim, calming light with only a little background noise, which is easily tuned out. Very comfortable for dining and conversation at our table. The table is covered in a thick, white drawing paper with crayons off to the side. Adults can enjoy some tic-tac-toe, or kids can have creative reign. We didn't wait long for our drinks, and the waitress was graciously bringing refills the whole visit. We had questions regarding the menu and asked about substitutions. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and quick to grant our personalized menu choices. No long wait for our food, it was hot, fresh, exactly as ordered and incredibly delicious. My boyfriend ordered a burger, and I ordered manicotti, substituting marinara for alfredo sauce. The food was on point, perfectly done with excellent flavors. For our anniversary, we were gifted a choice of dessert, free on the house. We chose the chocolate mousse tort, which is out-of-this-world amazing. I highly recommend The Hearthstone Bistro for any out to eat occasion. Our waitress mentioned the menu changes weekly on Thursdays. I wish I could visit weekly to try all the gourmet eats they have to offer.

Went there last night for my birthday. Everything was perfect, from the spicy margarita to the Milanes Chicken Florio to the dark chocolate pie. Our server, Melissa, was attentive and very pleasant. The reason I only rated it a 4 for atmosphere is they have a paper table covering instead of a tablecloth. That detracted from the overall special dinner atmosphere, in my opinion. Everything else was perfect.

TLDR: This place has a lovely atmosphere, nice lighting, good food, decent wine, good service and overall a very pleasant vibe. We started with a bottle of the house red and a bottle of the house Pinot Grigio for the table. The Pinot Grigio was nice, and my mom liked it too 🤣. I didn’t try the red- I don’t like red wine in general. We split a couple apps amongst the group, both of which were super tasty: SPINACH & ARTICHOKE DIP (served in bread bowl • cream cheese • red peppers• bacon • cheddar • hacienda tortilla chips) GOAT CHEESE FRITTER (San Marzano tomato sauce • garlic cream • cellophane basil)• focaccia One thing I’ll say about the apps is that in a lot of places, they don’t give you enough bread or chips to accompany the dip, but here, they did! Quite satisfactory!! 🥖🥖🥖 These were the entrees we ordered: WIENERSCHNITZEL A LA HOLSTEIN thinly pounded breaded veal • sunny side up egg - lemon caper butter • potato gratin • sweet & sour red cabbage (I was told it was delicious). JALAPENO PINEAPPLE BURGER house-ground beef patty • shaved ham • smoked blue cheese spread • grilled pineapple • minced jalapeno • lettuce • tomato • peri peri frites (it looked amazing and it was HUGE! I was told that this was also awesome). BRAISED BEEF BOURGUIGNON Cabernet demi-glace • pearl onions - oyster mushrooms• Yukon potato purée - buttered carrots & green peas (Also heard this was great). GRILLED WHITEFISH Lake Michigan caught • pistachio gremolata • cauliflower puree - roasted brussels sprouts • Nueske's bacon (I had a bit of this and it was fantastic! Really the flavors on everything here were just right 😎) MOZZARELLA PANINO pulled burrata mozzarella • provolone • basil pesto • balsamic glazed tomatoes • fresh basil • herbed focaccia - deli chips (it looked amazing and I was told that it was scrumptious). Hearthstone Bistro catered our wedding in October 2025. When I say the food was amazing I mean the food was amazing! And most importantly to me, they handle multiple allergy with ease (tree nuts, gluten, and onion). We had a buffet setup, but those with gluten and onion where given separate plates. This is so amazing to me! I have had my tree nut allergy since I was a kid and have never felt so secure that I would not have a reaction. If you are still looking for a caterer I would strongly encourage you to reach out to them. My Husband and I had a great experience from start to finish. From the tasting to the day off. The staff was amazing, the communication throughout the whole process was phenomenal (shout out to Erin for that), and a shout out to Kim who was the manager on site the day of our wedding. She was the sweetest and rolled with our timeline that ended up going faster than we expected. I would absolutely recommend for catering. For how they handle that the in restaurants experience has to be phenomenal too.

Tremendous! Among the best meals I have ever eaten. I had the Beef Bourguignon. Very tender. (My mother tried a bite and said it was every bit as good —if not superior—to that which she had in Paris.) Every member of our party was delighted with their dish. The escargot came in these adorable little ceramic cups, topped with puff pastry. Exquisite. Our server was helpful and attentive. We called in advance and despite not having previously making a reservation they were very accommodating and worked us in early in the evening. It was our first time there and it will definitely not be our last.

It's been quite a while, but still upholds excellence in delicious, creative, seasonal food; creative cocktails; & attentive, friendly service. We took dessert home it was boxed up nicely as well.

Had a great dinner with my team and our Swedish coworkers. Food was fantastic, and we sat at the round table with the gas fireplace.
